Very cool. I love the palette!

Not really, it's just a matter of a good brush choice, and those you can easily create/embrace in e.g. Promotion.

Thank you!

It's very clean and nice, but if you don't mind critique, I would lower the contrast down a bit. The #000000 black lines, especially, seem to stick out of what is otherwise a pastel-color drawing. I guess you've been working with a line art first and they just stuck around. The lone leftmost hair curve is also a bit distracting, if you ask me, but that just might be nit-picking. Welcome abroad!

Fakt, moglem to dopracowac, ale skoro twarz jest centralnym i najbardziej skupiajacym uwage elementem, uznalem, ze moge zaoszczedzic czasu na reszcie. Nieprzyjemna, w sensie: odpychajaca ? Czekam na Twoj ruch i takze pozdrawiam ! :)

This is indeed deeply rooted in the demoscene aesthetic. Keep the oldschool alive!

Dude, please spend more time on a piece before you put it into the gallery ! :)

 This is not pixel-art. Sorry.

Agree with Christoballs. Another thing is the color choice per se, I'd tinker with it a bit more...just to get rid of this muddy effect you have here by now. Anyway, keep it up!

They are (and so is the background doodle) but I decided to leave these parts this way.

doesnt look bad but, frankly, the conversion marred it a little. never mind that, glad you used it in your demo. btw, have you seen the original c64 release?

wow, that looks cool! thanks for utilizing the piece and sorry i wasnt around to reply. well, as im watching the demo now, it seems the samurai withstood the conversion better than industrial dawn. big up and keep creative ideas flowing!

thank you for the kind words fellows!

i guess you could mistake it for a helm's piece because of the dominant colors i have been using in this one. however, helm doing a graffiti piece would be something new, i guess :)

tomic, yeah, it is a bit depressing that this kind of stuff has fallen from grace these days but too bad for them, true oldschool will live as long as we can pixel :) it's very comforting, though, that you like this one. thank you!

yeah, i could use a few more highlights (again, there is an additional sprite layer used), i kind of fell in love with them as soon as i have understood the way they work. but until the final stroke i was considering it to be plain HiRes (there you can't allow yourself for such "extravagance" of color usage).

voila, check the description :) you're right, there could be more tweaks and less restriction-abiding since the piece uses sprites. anyways, i'm quite satisfied with the result. thanks for the feedback! :)

I'll quote myself: "Yes, I was quite inspired by some of Lackey's works as well as Helm's and Ptoing's."

The Temple piece was probably my main inspiration, though.

just stopping by to say i really enjoy this one and though there might be some minor issues with e.g. the troubling outline on the legs or with the composition (the right portion of the image looks a bit "overburdened") i find this piece really really atmospheric! id definitely buy a print and hang it on the wall! :) congrats on the 6th place!

hi there ellhnikos! :) im happy you have got back to c64 pieces! i really like this hires as well as the previous one though there are a few things that this piece would benefit from if changed/revised a little. i completely agree with the nacl leg/head edit but i can see why you decided to leave the space between the legs darker -- it adds some depth to the picture. esthetically though, at least as for my taste, the nacl version looks better. also, im not really keen on the blue border -- i think you'd be better off with the gray one (or you could do a blue/gray dithered pattern there (but now im not sure whether hires restrictions apply to the borders -- i guess not). anyways, i always respect your stylistic choices so i take this piece as it is and i really admire it! cheers!
